Paine Furniture Colonial Revival 5 Tube Grandfather Clock SOLD
Manufactured in Boston by the Paine Furniture Company, this beautifully proportioned Colonial Revival grandfather clock is made of solid mahogany.
The broken pediment features simple scrollwork and an urn-shaped finial.
The lower door contains beveled glass while the upper door is flat glass.
Each side of the clock bonnet has a fretwork panel to allow better sound.
Inside, Paine Furniture was supplied the 5 tube, Westminster chime movement by the famed Herschede Hall Clock Company (a name synonymous with the highest quality).
The brass weight shells and pendulum bob have been cleaned and re-lacquered at some point, improving their look and matching the shine of the nickel plated chime tubes.
The dial features a "chime / silent" lever as well as a "strike / silent" lever, functioning lunar dial, seconds subdial, and beautifully engraved corner spandrels.
The sound and overall quality of this clock are fantastic!
