6"Ship's Bell Clock, Contemporary Base with Mahogany Finish

New old stock. Never been taken out of the box, until now. Still in original box and packing from Chelsea.

For more than 120 years, the Ship's Bell Clock has been guiding sailors and many others as it marks the passage of time. By adding a traditional mahogany base, our traditional wall clock becomes an elegant desk clock that is equally magnificent on a living room mantel as it is in a deckhouse. This six-inch ship's clock uses the same patented design as the first Ship's Bell produced in 1900 - and like that clock, it's still handcrafted in the U.S. by master clockmakers.

Every Ship's Bell 6-inchluxury desk clock has a forged brass case that resists saltwater corrosion and tarnish. Using an eleven-jewel German mechanical movement and 290 precision brass internal parts, this clock keeps precision time with easy winding using the included key. It uses rich yet gentle chimes abiding by the mariner watchcode. You'll hear eight chimes at four, eight and twelve o'clock to signal the end of the watch. For each following half-hour, the clock counts upward with one chime, two chimes, etc. until the next four-hour mark. Behind the hinged bezel is a hand-silvered dial and gracefully curving black Arabic numerals to track time visually.

With the hard wood walnut base with mahogany finishes complementing the lacquered brass finish, this ship's clock with bells is a statement piece for any collection.

This clock has an engraving on the top of the clock brass case. It could be stripped and re polished but we chose to keep the case as is. Reason, this clock was never taken out of the case sense new. It still has the packing winding stop on the dial. This clock has never been used in any way. I guess the person that received it just wasn’t into nautical. It is priced accordingly.
