French Spelter Figural Clock Here, a lovely goddess sits atop a pedestal, reading and writing in her book while resting on a globe.
The clock case and statue are made of spelter with a patinated finish sitting atop a black marble and green/black marble base.
The French movement is a seven day time and strike on bell and was made by Japy Freres. It was originally retailed in
the "Quartier St. George" in Paris as stated on the dial. The enamel dial is in excellent condition, but as
is typical with spelter, there is loss in some areas on the statue. Overall, it's still very pretty to look at. Circa 1880
